I love a statement necklace but sometimes a delicate piece is just as gorgeous! I love my new silver bar necklace with a slight curve by Maison Miru. A necklace like this can really be worn with any outfit, for any occasion.
I love it when wearing a shirt like this or something with a lower neckline. A bar necklace looks great on its own but also looks fab when layered with other longer and/or shorter delicate necklaces. Do you like this kind of simple but elegant necklace?
Slip on printed sneakers are the ideal summer shoe trend because they are comfortable and stylish. For a little while I’d been on the lookout for some leopard sneakers and I finally found the perfect ones at ASOS, and for only £20! These leopard Dockland Plimsolls (link) are such a fun accessory to accompany many outfits.
I could go on and on about how to style them but here some quick ideas; think (distressed) jeans and a crisp white shirt // black leather skirt and black top // a little white tunic dress // your favourite denim shirt and red jeans // bright shades like orange go great with leopard print // but also more neutral toned shades like camel or olive green // an all black outfit, or even being more of a rebel and mixing it with other prints. Like combining leopard print with stripes! Here a recent outfit of the day with my new ASOS Leopard Sneakers.
Waxed cropped black jeans by ZARA // White short sleeve tee by ZARA // Thin nautical striped knit by Vera Moda – which I threw on later in the day // Olive Parka from H&M // ASOS Docklands Plimsoll Leopard Sneakers (link) // Simone Necklace by Maison Miru // Watch by Michael Kors // Arm candy by Tiffany & Co, Monica Vinader and London W11 bangle by Whistle & Bango (as seen here).
The ASOS Docklands Plimsolls are also available in other prints, like grid, floral or check, see full range here. Which ones do you like?
The other day I got invited to have a little browse around the Bailey Nelson store in Covent Garden. Being Dutch I always love a good bargain and Bailey Nelson’s offering is definitely that; as they offer funky designed, high quality prescription glasses and sunglasses at super affordable prices. Let’s have a look shall we?
Bailey Nelson now have 4 boutiques in London and Covent Garden is their flagship store. The boutiques are very much about enjoying the experience of helping you find the perfect pair of Bailey Nelson spectacles and there doesn’t feel anything like your usual optician store. The funky in-store design and friendly staff made me feel right at home straight away. And that’s how you want to feel when you’re trying on glasses; comfortable, don’t you agree?
Now onto the best past, the totally transparent pricing – everything in the store costs £98! This will buy you an awesome pair of frames INCLUDING single vision prescription lenses or a pair of cool polarised sunglasses (which can also be prescribed at no extra cost). All lenses are high quality and come with anti-scratch, anti-glare and anti-reflection coatings as standard (there is no up sell). Knowing that every pair in the store is the same price means you can try everything on and not worry about the price, but more focus on the style and the feeling that pair of glasses gives you. I love trying on new glasses and sunglasses, it’s such a fun experience and great way to try out new looks. So I went on the hunt for a fun new pair of sunnies…
Some of my favourites were the black Lucette Cat Eye Shades, the over-sized Tortoise Mim’s shades and the Virginia shades in bright blue. I would have loved to get the Mim’s ones but unfortunately I have quite a small head so they just looked too big on me. But I did find a pair that I loved very much and straight away felt like the perfect fit – the Wallace!
What they look like on me? To be continued. I am off on holiday to Turkey on Sunday so I’m sure they will come in very handy over there :)
For more information about Bailey Nelson or to find one of their stores (currently they are based in the UK, Australia and Canada) visit their website www.baileynelson.co.uk or just pop into the Covent Garden Boutique to try out their funky designs for yourself.

Fact 1) I love stripes. That’s nothing new is it? Anything striped and I just have to have it. Do you think there’s a stripes addiction rehab out there somewhere? Anyway, Fact 2) I love orange. And not only because I am Dutch and orange is our national colour, because I just simply love this bright and happy colour.
So recently I was at this BBQ and I spotted this girl’s phone, and when I saw her iPhone case – I froze. I had to have this phone cover! It was a mix of two of my favourite things; orange and stripes and it pretty much screamed ‘ME’! So I asked her where she got it from, and when online and BOOM now it’s mine. Lucky too that I was so speedy about it because it’s now already sold out.
How perfect is it? It’s the Stripe Leather case for iPhone 5/5s from J.Crew (link). The funny thing is when this package arrived at work and I was squealing with excitement, the girl I sit next two actually laughed and said – this phone case is actually so you, just look at what you’re wearing…..
She had a point, orange and stripes haha! And I hadn’t even planned it. Just shows, this phone case and I were meant to be and I am so happy we’re together ;)
I am a big fan of coloured denim, especially in summer! So when I spotted these bright yellow jeans at ZARA recently, I knew they had my name written all over them. Wearing yellow always makes me happy and feel like a little ray of sunshine. This is me out in Notting Hill recently on a gorgeous day feeling very bright :)
Yellow jeans by ZARA, Trafaluc £19.99 (link) // Grey VOGUE Netherlands T-shirt // Denim jacket by Bershka (as seen here) // Turquoise W11 bracelet by Whistle & Bango // Watch by Michael Kors // Leather loafers by Tony Bianco.
What do you think of my bright yellow jeans – is this something you’ll wear this summer?
