Mazi London

Mazi has been one of my favourite spots in Notting Hill for quite some time now so it’s terrible really that I haven’t even featured it on here! I recently visited this lovely greek restaurant again when my parents were in town so took some quick snap shots of our dinner to show you. Mazi has been around since 2012 and is located in one of the cutest areas in Notting Hill, tucked away behind Notting Hill Gate in Hillgate Village; where the streets are filled with cute little colourful houses. An instagramers dream let me tell you ;)

However, Mazi isn’t your traditional greek restaurant because they say they take inspiration from the traditional greek table but reinvent them with a modern twist. I fell in love with this hidden gem years ago and have been back many times since. Every dish is delicious, the interior and vibe has a lovely relaxed cosy feel (and they have an amazing back courtyard in summer where you can eat al fresco!) and the service is always friendly and efficient.

Ostuni Restaurant in Queens Park – Cucina Pugliese

I’ve got a new local favourite and I just can’t stop talking to people about it, so it’s probably about time I told you guys all about it. Let me introduce you to Queens Park best kept secret; Ostuni Restaurant! I think Ostuni has actually been about a 5 minute walk from my house ever since I moved to the area about 1,5 years ago but it was one of those places people told me about and said; you need to go. And then for some reason I just never did. Until I actually did, and loved it so much that I can’t stop going there again, and again, and again!

Ostuni is pretty much London’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine and wines of Puglia. Puglia is a region in the in boot of Italy, known for some of the best food you can think of; simple and full of flavour. There’s pasta, seafood, meat and lets not forget cheese; for example Burrata which originates from Puglia. Have I mentioned before btw that I am slightly obsessed with Burrata? It’s DELICIOUS! Anyway, where was I? Oh yes Ostuni Restaurant is located in a lovely quiet mews off Salusbury Road and the interior is very rustic, cosy but also modern. They have a great leafy terrace outside and when I am there I always feel a bit like I am actually in Italy on holiday!

Brunch at Egg Break Notting Hill

I have egg-cellent news for brunch lovers in West London; there’s a new hot spot in the area! Egg Break opened in July and is a joint project between Soho House and the team behind the Hoxton Hotel. They’ve teamed up before with winning places like Hubbard & Bell and Chicken Shop!

Egg Break is just near Notting Hill Gate on Uxbridge Street in a space formally occupied by the small ‘Thai Break’ restaurant. As much as that Thai was actually nice so it’s sad to see it’s gone – I am a bigger lover of good brunch spots and I’d heard good reviews from friends so I couldn’t wait to try it out this weekend.

Wild Food Cafe in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden

Healthy food lovers; listen up! I recently discovered a gem of a health foodie spot that you need to visit. The Wild Food Cafe is tucked away in the colourful courtyard that is Neal’s Yard. I love that place, it’s such a hidden little treat in buzzing Sevendials. For a not so healthy spot there go to Homeslice (review here), it’s pretty bombdiggity! Anyway, back to the Wild Food Cafe. Now this is a raw-centric, vegan and vegetarian hot spot using local and fresh organic ingredients.
