Burberry Beauty – Winter Glow & Burberry Eyes

Burberry is one of those brands that produce high quality in whatever they do, and that includes their make up. Their textures and applications are always brilliant and the packaging super luxurious. I recently got some new Burberry Beauty items and wanted to share the love.

Firstly they have their Winter Glow collection which was inspired by the soft light of winter, and this this festive make-up collection features glowing, luminescent skin with seasonal hues of oxblood and gold.

I’m loving the Oxblood Lip Mist (#214 – link) which gives a sheer illuminating finish with a hint of colour. Because Oxblood is quite a deep shade it means it’s actually not that sheer but it’s smooth, lightweight and glides on effortlessly. You can apply lightly with your fingers for a more natural look or you can also build it up for a stronger colour.  Another item in the collection is the Lip Glow in Gold (#25 – link) which is limited edition. Love the gorgeous packaging and this light reflecting gloss is stunning on its on or on top of any lipstick for a pretty gold shimmery finish!

Next up is the Burberry Eyes collection which includes new mascaras, liners and brow definers. Their new mascaras are Effortless, Bold Lash and Curve Lash. I got Bold Lash in Ebony (#1 – link) which is for intensely volumised lashes. It has a creamy and highly pigmented formula and the brush easily allows you to cover every lash from root to tip to give you a long lasting rich and bold look.

Burberry Eyes also includes new eye liners and brow definers.  I especially love the Effortless Liquid Eyeliner in Jet Black (#1 – link). It has an ultra-thin tip applicator so you can apply this rich liquid liner with precision and the rubber grip design also helps to give you more control. There is also the Effortless Eyebrow definer (link) for creating that signature Burberry brow (think à la Cara Delevingne) and the Effortless Kohl Eyeliner (link) which is designed to outline eyes with long-lasting definition and intensity, or to use on the inner lash line for a softer look. Looks great smudged for a smokey look! It has a waterproof and highly pigmented formula and comes with a retractable tip and built-in sharpener. Available in four shades: Jet Black, Chestnut Brown, Storm Grey and Pale Grape.

What do you think of these Burberry Beauty items, spot anything you are lusting after this winter?

Products I am loving at the moment

I thought it was about time for another product love post! As a bit of a beauty addict and through having this blog, I get exposed to a lot of different products. Some I love, and others not so much. I’ve said before that I like to use this platform for sharing positive and not negative experiences, therefore mainly blogging about things, places and recipes I enjoy and love instead of ranting about something I don’t like. So, on that note, here are a couple of products I am loving at the moment.

image46 680x1020 Products I am loving at the moment

Urban Decay NAKED Flushed Palette // Hermes Perfume in Jour d’Hermes Absolu // Clinique Smart Custom Serum // Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth Infusing Makeup // Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation // Paula’s Choice Soft Cream Concealer // Clinique Smart Custom Serum // Maybelline Big Eyes Volume Express Waterproof Mascara // Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

First up foundations – Even though I have my favourite go-to foundations, I still love trying out new ones. From recent foundations I have tried I was really impressed with the Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth Infusing Makeup (LINK). I use shade 2C3 in Fresco, which works well for my colouring. Perfectionist Foundation has a satin finish, neither too greasy/dewy or matte. It has a super silky (because it’s infused with an age-defying serum to reduce the look of lines) texture which makes it a dream to apply and blend. The coverage is more light to medium, but is easily buildable if you prefer full cover. When wearing this foundation, I feel it gives my face a nice glow and it lasts well throughout the day. It’s kind of like my skin but better because it looks natural but gives me that extra cover to give me a ‘perfectionist’ look!

Now, Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation is an ‘oldie’ but a goodie. I’ve always been a fan of this foundation but recently recovered my love for it after having not used it for a while. You can read my old review on the blog HERE. I really think this is one of my favourite drugstore foundations and for £10.99 it really is a bargain!

The Urban Decay Naked FLUSHED Palette (£22 LINK). This little beauty contains a silky bronzer, highlighter and blusher designed to add a radiant glow to all skin types. You can use the pressed powders individually or blend them together depending on the effect you want. The UD Naked Flushed Palette is packaged neatly in a sleek case with an easy-open yet secure magnetic closure and full compact mirror; perfect for touch-ups. It’s so handy to have a compact with all these three products in one, it’s my go-to travel face palette at the moment.

Urban Decay Naked FLUSHED comes in four shades; Naked (medium pink), Streak (medium peach), Native (light pink) and Strip (dusty mauve). I have the shade Native and I love its super pigmented – so go easy on this one – matte pink blush, illuminating bronzer and shimmery highlighter. The highlighter is fab to enhance your facial features like cheekbones, brow bone and even cupids bow.

Jour d’Hermès Absolu Perfume (LINK)This fragrance is just divine. There’s something I love about the big bold bottle and it just smells so sophisticated and expensive. Jour d’Hermès Absolu is all about ‘expressing the essence of femininity with flowers and nothing but flowers’. It has notes of Gardenia, Sambac Jasmine and Apricot Flower. It’s floral but smooth, sensual and complex at the same time. I am wearing it day and night and just can’t get enough of it. Jour d`Hermes Absolu is available as 30, 50 and 85ml EDP

Paula’s Choice Soft Cream Concealer – I’ve been enjoying using this creamy product. It provides medium to full coverage without caking or looking dry. Its smooth, easy to blend formula covers dark circles, redness and minor imperfections. Comes in two shades; Soft Ivory and Soft Neutral (I use the latter) and is £12.95 per compact (LINK).

Clinique Smart Custom Serum (LINK) - I’ve been applying this twice a day (morning and evening) and really like how it makes my skin look and feel. Clinique says “Clinique Smart Smart Custom-Repair Serum contains calming ingredients that help deliver targeted repair – as needed, where needed. Recommended for all skin types, ages, and ethnicities, it visibly addresses uneven skintone, lines, and wrinkles for visibly firmer, more radiant, and more youthful-looking skin”. After applying it my face feels super soft and my makeup also applies more smoothly.

Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm (LINK) I am already a big fan of the Clinique Chubby Sticks (normal and intense version) so was intrigued when I learned they now also had a baby tint range. What this means? “A bit of colour but a hefty helping of moisture”. The Clinique Baby Tint Chubby Stucks comes as a collection of 4 sheer shades; Poppin Poppy (orange), Coming up Rosie (red), Budding Blossom (pink) and Flowering Freesia (violet). Because these sheer sticks ‘bloom’ on contact with your lips to bring out your natural lip tone – which is different for everyone – I do recommend you test the shades before purchasing since there’s no easy way to tell what the colours will actually turn out like until you try them. I have Poppin Poppy and Coming up Rosie and love the bright but sheer effect they give. Plus they are they are infused with Vitamin C, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil, for juicy, soft and supple lips.

Maybelline Big Eyes Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara – Been loving this drugstore Mascara. Maybelline is known for their fab mascaras and this is another winner in my books. Get this if you want the look of false lashes without the time-consuming, gluey process of the real thing ;) Also handy is that it has a duel-sided component; one brush for the upper lashes and one for the lower lashes.  It quickly lengthens and thickens my lashes for dramatic results and doesn’t leave any lumps. I find when I use this mascara my eyes just look so open and bright and it lasts all day, and night without flaking! Great value product at only £8.99 (LINK)

A little tip for you on how to apply mascara to your bottom lashes: after applying mascara to your top lashes, look straight ahead and hold your mascara horizontally across your bottom lashes and blink! (if necessary repeat a couple of times across your lash line) I find this works perfectly for me every time!

Furiosa FENDI – Fragrance Review

In September FENDI introduced a new fragrance to their range; Furiosa! They say the scent is an ode to the elegance of the House’s iconic furs and a tribute to the FENDI’s woman’s wild yet sophisticated femininity.

“The new FENDI fragrance is a supreme tribute to the heart of FENDI’s unique universe where women are not only magnificent but mostly powerful, impacting on the world with an inimitable grace” Plus Furiosa actually means “furious” and “feisty” in Italian so its going to be punchy.

First up, how gorgeous is the bottle of Furiosa? It was designed by jewellery designer Delfina Dellettrez and who is in the fourth generation of family FENDI.

image10 680x1020 Furiosa FENDI Fragrance Review image9 680x453 Furiosa FENDI Fragrance Review image11 680x453 Furiosa FENDI Fragrance Review

The scent is intense, slightly mysterious and luxuriously elegant!  It contains notes of Calabrian bergamot in the top, wallflower (violaciocca) at the heart and amber in the base. When I first smelled this fragrance I wasn’t so sure on it, but it’s totally grown on me. It’s a lovely warm and spicy scent, with depth and flowers in the background. It’s definitely very interesting, classy, the scent lasts all day and I think it’s a great fragrance for the autumn autumn/winter season. I’ve been wearing it a bit recently when out and have received lots of lovely comments so think it’s a winner for when you’re looking to leave a (lovely smelling) impression!

Furiosa FENDI is available exclusively at Harrods for £63 for 50ml and £88 for 100ml (EDP).
Do you like the sound, eh smell, of this fragrance? ;)

NARCISO by Narciso Rodriguez

I absolutely love fragrances by Narciso Rodriguez, with For Her being one of my top 3 perfumes of all time! So I was excited when I found out that he’d launched a new perfume to his fragrance range in August. Introducing NARCISO, the new fragrance from Narciso Rodriguez. Speaking about his latest scent Narciso Rodriguez said “I wanted to create an extremely sexy fragrance that would turn a man’s head”

NARCISO definitely smells sensual in a modern way; full of elegance and luxury. Vetiver and musk are key component of the perfume, softened by other ingredients including amber, white and dark cedars, gardenia and Bulgarian rose providing warmth and sensuality.

“I strive to celebrate women’s sexuality, her sensuality, and to do it in a graceful way, not in an overbearing way. Grace is something becoming more and more rare these days. To me it’s one of the most beautiful traits a person can have. I never lose sight of the fact that the work should celebrate a women’s beauty, her body, her personality. I think it’s the foundation of my work” ~ Narciso Rodriguez.

Brazilian glamazon Raquel Zimmermann has fronted the latest campaign for NARCISO.  The NARCISO fragrance is presented in a stone-white lacquer, cubic-shaped bottle. The shade was inspired by a stone found by the designer on the beach in Cyprus. “Black, white and nude are my essential colours,” noted Rodriguez, “Each time I start a collection, I start with these.”

I love this uniquely sexy fragrance. It’s like the grown up version of For Her; stronger, more confident and super classy! Definitely another winner by Narciso Rodriguez.

NARCISO by Narciso Rodriguez is now exclusively available from Selfridges (link) in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum starting from £39.

Moroccanoil Light Treatment

I’ve spoken about my love for Moroccanoil on the blog before (link) – it being my most holy grail hair product! I use the Moroccanoil treatment a lot, pretty much after every hair wash , every 3-4 days. It makes my hair feel super healthy, soft and shiny – it’s my hair’s best friend. I’ve always used the original Moroccanoil treatment which has worked brilliantly for me but did you know they also have a Moroccanoil Light version.?

Moroccanoil Light is perfect for finer and light coloured hair, still using the same formula of Argan Oil to strengthen, nourish and protect your hair.

image107 Moroccanoil Light Treatment

How to use it? Just apply a small drop to your hand, massage hands together to let the heat distribute the product and then apply with fingers to clean, towel-dried hair, from mid-length to ends. I then brush my hair and quickly  blast it with a blow dryer or let it dry naturally. Plus the Moroccanoil Light treatment can also be applied to dry hair to tame fly-aways or condition dry ends. And and not to forget that it smells oh so good!

image104 Moroccanoil Light Treatment image105 Moroccanoil Light Treatment image106 Moroccanoil Light Treatment

I also got some other Moroccanoil goodies recently. The Luminous Hairspray (strong) smells just as good as the Oil treatment and is lightweight but still gives your hair long-lasting, flexible hold without any sticky residue. Love using this hairspray after I’ve curled my hair with my GHD’s, by spraying it all over and lightly brushing it out to create soft but natural curls that last all day long.

I’ve been using the Moroccanoil Cleansing bar in the shower for the last week and it’s heavenly. It’s fragranced once again with that divine Moroccanoil scent, is paraben-free and combines antioxidant-rich argan oil and shea butter to moisturize as it cleanses.

I haven’t tried the Moroccanoil Hydrating Mask Light yet. It’s a 5 minute extra conditioning revival treatment to give your hair some extra tender, loving and care.  It says it should deeply hydrate and condition while dramatically improving hair’s texture, elasticity, shine and manageability. I can’t wait to give this a go soon!

Moroccanoil Treatment £31.85 (125ml) LINK  or 25ml for £13.45 LINK // Moroccanoil Light Treatment £31.85 (125ml) LINK or 25ml for £13.45 LINK // Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray £17.25 (330ml) LINK // Moroccanoil Hydrating Mask Light for £31.25 LINK
