NARCISO by Narciso Rodriguez

I absolutely love fragrances by Narciso Rodriguez, with For Her being one of my top 3 perfumes of all time! So I was excited when I found out that he’d launched a new perfume to his fragrance range in August. Introducing NARCISO, the new fragrance from Narciso Rodriguez. Speaking about his latest scent Narciso Rodriguez said “I wanted to create an extremely sexy fragrance that would turn a man’s head”

NARCISO definitely smells sensual in a modern way; full of elegance and luxury. Vetiver and musk are key component of the perfume, softened by other ingredients including amber, white and dark cedars, gardenia and Bulgarian rose providing warmth and sensuality.

“I strive to celebrate women’s sexuality, her sensuality, and to do it in a graceful way, not in an overbearing way. Grace is something becoming more and more rare these days. To me it’s one of the most beautiful traits a person can have. I never lose sight of the fact that the work should celebrate a women’s beauty, her body, her personality. I think it’s the foundation of my work” ~ Narciso Rodriguez.

Brazilian glamazon Raquel Zimmermann has fronted the latest campaign for NARCISO.  The NARCISO fragrance is presented in a stone-white lacquer, cubic-shaped bottle. The shade was inspired by a stone found by the designer on the beach in Cyprus. “Black, white and nude are my essential colours,” noted Rodriguez, “Each time I start a collection, I start with these.”

I love this uniquely sexy fragrance. It’s like the grown up version of For Her; stronger, more confident and super classy! Definitely another winner by Narciso Rodriguez.

NARCISO by Narciso Rodriguez is now exclusively available from Selfridges (link) in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum starting from £39.

Moroccanoil Light Treatment

I’ve spoken about my love for Moroccanoil on the blog before (link) – it being my most holy grail hair product! I use the Moroccanoil treatment a lot, pretty much after every hair wash , every 3-4 days. It makes my hair feel super healthy, soft and shiny – it’s my hair’s best friend. I’ve always used the original Moroccanoil treatment which has worked brilliantly for me but did you know they also have a Moroccanoil Light version.?

Moroccanoil Light is perfect for finer and light coloured hair, still using the same formula of Argan Oil to strengthen, nourish and protect your hair.

How to use it? Just apply a small drop to your hand, massage hands together to let the heat distribute the product and then apply with fingers to clean, towel-dried hair, from mid-length to ends. I then brush my hair and quickly  blast it with a blow dryer or let it dry naturally. Plus the Moroccanoil Light treatment can also be applied to dry hair to tame fly-aways or condition dry ends. And and not to forget that it smells oh so good!

I also got some other Moroccanoil goodies recently. The Luminous Hairspray (strong) smells just as good as the Oil treatment and is lightweight but still gives your hair long-lasting, flexible hold without any sticky residue. Love using this hairspray after I’ve curled my hair with my GHD’s, by spraying it all over and lightly brushing it out to create soft but natural curls that last all day long.

I’ve been using the Moroccanoil Cleansing bar in the shower for the last week and it’s heavenly. It’s fragranced once again with that divine Moroccanoil scent, is paraben-free and combines antioxidant-rich argan oil and shea butter to moisturize as it cleanses.

I haven’t tried the Moroccanoil Hydrating Mask Light yet. It’s a 5 minute extra conditioning revival treatment to give your hair some extra tender, loving and care.  It says it should deeply hydrate and condition while dramatically improving hair’s texture, elasticity, shine and manageability. I can’t wait to give this a go soon!

Neon Nail Polish

When I was in Turkey my friend bought some cheap bright holiday nail polishes to do her toes and I ended up falling a bit in love with neon nail polish. I did my fingers in the neon yellow and my toes in a neon pink – so fun!

I ended up buying some neon yellow myself and have been wearing it around in London and got lots of comments on it. I love bright nails like this during summer holidays or just summer in general.

What do you think of the neon nail polish trend?

Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil

While I’ve been on holiday I’ve been loving the Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil fragrance. It’s pretty much like summer in a bottle!

image46 680x906 Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil image47 680x906 Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil

Sparkling with luscious, sun-kissed freshness, the new Eau de Cartier has been infused with a note of freshly pressed passion fruit. Combined with a zesty hint of mint like a summer breeze, Zeste de Soleil is a natural and exotic interpretation of the original Eau.

The passion fruit smells delicious and fresh and it dries down to a nice sunny, juicy tropical smell. I’m used to wearing more Eau de Perfums these days however so do find the Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil doesn’t last as long as I would like. But for days on the beach or a summery evening out that doesn’t matter too much – as it’s just a nice fresh and summery added touch! Also, I love that the bottle can twist close for ease of travel – an added bonus!

Cartier Eau de Cartier Zeste de Soleil is available in 50, 100 and 200 ml Eau de Toilette. Have you tried this fragrance before or what perfume are you loving this summer?

Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid

Summer is finally here! But because I’ve been so busy at work, I haven’t had a holiday since Christmas which unfortunately means I am super (pasty legs) white….not a good look! The exciting thing is however, is that I am going on holiday today!! I am escaping for a week of relaxing to the italian Tuscan countryside with my parents. I can’t wait to not look at any work emails but instead explore beautiful italian towns, eat lots of delicious food, soak up the sun and read my book.

To prepare myself for this holiday, one of the things on my check list was ‘get a tan’. Being a busy girl, and because I am live in the UK, it means that for the most part I turn to fake tan in order to get my golden glow. I’ve spoken on the blog here before about some of my go-to tanning products, for example read here, here and here.

But a while ago, a girl at my office was telling me about this 60 minute fake tan product she’d been using (which looked fab on her) so I was very intrigued to give it a go. I have to say I was impressed so have used it a few times already for my tanning-fix. So let me tell you about Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid.

What they say: “The longest lasting, most natural looking, ultimate fake tan just got even FASTER! A revolutionary, express, self tan liquid which develops into a beautiful, natural looking tan in 60 minutes. Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid (236ml) is easy to apply with the “shows where it goes” colour guide, the tanning agents – dihydroxyacetone and erythulose are activated upon contact with the skin.”

Inside the box you get an easy to follow instructions booklet, an excellent mitt, a set of gloves a spray pump and of course, the bottle of self tanning liquid.

Preparation for applying this tan is the same with any false tan- shave and exfoliate at least 24 hours before application and apply an oil free moisturisers to especially dry areas before use. When you are ready to start tanning, put on the latex gloves and  use the tanning mitt. The pink mitt actually has two different sides to it – white for exfoliating to remove dead skin cells to create an even surface on the skin prior to the application of the self tan, and the soft pink can then be used when the skin is dry to gently buff away any excess false tan from the skin to ensure you get a streak free finish. You can either spray the Fake Bak 60 Minute Self-Tan Liquid directly onto the skin or spray the tan onto the mitt first and then rub the mitt onto your skin. I prefer the latter.

The Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self Tan has a lovely brown colour that shows you exactly where the product is going on your skin.  The colour that it leaves, as can be seen below, is very close to the colour that the tan actually develops into when left on the skin for an hour.  Fake Bake guidelines state how long to leave the tan developing for: 1 hour- a beautiful golden tan, 2 hours- a bronzed tan or 3 hours- a dark tan. Then just wash off the tan in the shower. In the beginning I was convinced that my fake tan was completely washing off in the shower but nope – you emerge tanned and I think the colour continues to develop a tiny bit more once washed off.

I will definitely continue to use this fake tan. Not only do I like the natural tan it gives but especially because it’s great when you don’t have much time to bronze up – for example for a spontaneous night out.

You can buy the Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self Tan direct from the Fake Bake website for £24.95 here, or from Feel Unique for a little cheaper. What’s your favourite fake tan?

Anyway I am all (tanned) and ready for my holiday now so it might be a little bit more quiet on the blog next week. But you can follow me on Instagram HERE to keep up with some of my italian adventures. Ciao!
