I love wearing red lipstick and even though the selection of shades out there is huge it can be quite tricky sometimes to find the perfect red lipsticks for the right look. So when you find a new favourite, it sure is a happy moment! Some of my current favourites already are MAC So Chaud (review here), MAC Lady Danger (review here) and Collection 2000 Queen of Hearts (review here).
But when I saw these gorgeous campaign images of Estée Lauder’s new Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick range, I instantly fell in love with that red lipstick! Model Carolyn Murphy wears the shade Envious in the shoot and to me it just looks like the perfect Hollywood glamorous red.
The new Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick range promises intense colour (that lasts for up to 6 hours) hydration and a pigmented bullet that sculpts lips, making them appear plumper and more defined. There are 20 new shades in the collection across 4 categories – Nudes to Browns, Pinks to Berries, Corals to Red and Mauves to Plums.
For me, red lipstick is my go-to when I need an easy “dress-up” look because it’s so simple and classic. This is me the other weekend wearing the new Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in the shade Envious which is described as a warm, bright poppy-red.
How to re-create this look? These are the products I used; Face: Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation in 1C1 (link) // Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer // Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer (review here) // MAC blush in Melba – holygrail blush for me (review here) // Note: my eye makeup looks a lot darker in these photos than it really was because photos were taken at night quickly before I went out - Eyes: MAC eyeshadow in the shade Cork (all over the lid) // MAC eyeshadow in the shade Espresso lightly along the lower lash line // L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Blackbuster Intense (to apply a winged line along the upper lash) // 17 VaVaVoom Mascara // Lips: Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Envious (link) // Necklace is the Gloria Luxurious Crystal Choker from Maison Miru (link & as seen here)
Aside from being the perfect classic red to me, what’s most appealing about the Pure Color Envy lipstick is its creamy and rich formula. It is super long-weaering but it moisturises your lips rather than drying them out which is better for long days and nights. Plus it applies so smoothly that you don’t need a lipliner or brush - you just swipe it on and you’re good to go – no bleeding outside the lip lines. I also love the chic and convenient magnetic closure meaning no lid coming off in your handbag!
I really love this colour and formula and I’ve had lots of compliments about it when wearing it. Do you like Envious or have you tried any of the new Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks yet?
Twice a year, department stores that stock Estee Lauder hold special Gift With Purchase events. And HOORAY it is Estée Lauder Gift Time once again because this spring, Debenhams is holding their event from Sunday the 23rd February to Saturday the 15th of March. The concept is that the gift is available to any customer who buys two Estee Lauder products – one being foundation or skincare. The gift itself is a collection of advanced skincare products and bold, colourful makeup shades, all housed in a brightly designed bag. I can never resists offers like these so I got two new Estee Lauder products!
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1C1 – I love this long wearing foundation, it’s perfect for a night out out without being really cake or heavy (as used in these smokey eye looks here & here) // Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipgloss in Shocking Pink (42). Ever since I picked up this Pure Color Gloss Collection at the airport a few years ago I’ve been a fan of the Pure Color glosses. Rock Candy (as seen here) is one of my favourite shades and I am sure Shocking Pink is going to another fave!
Now let’s check out the beautiful gift bag I got with it! Each gift with purchase bag contains; Advanced Night Repair Eye Crème (5ml) // DayWear Creme (deluxe gift size 15ml) // Dual-Ended Pure Color Intense Kajal EyeLiner in Blackened Black and Blackened Plum // Sumptuous Extreme Mascara (2.8ml) // Stress Relief Eye Mask.
Then you also get to choose between subtle or bold for your mini Pure Color Eyeshadow Quad and Pure Color Lipstick. I chose subtle and got the pretty little pink/purple eyeshadow quad with the eyeshadow shades; Pink Flash – Shimmer (01) // Lilac Whimsy – Satin (67) // Silver Bell – Shimmer (48) // Proactive Plum – Matte (14). The lipstick in the subtle gift pack is Pure Color in Pinkberry (82) which has a long lasting creme formula. Both are so pretty and I can’t wait to play with them.

Do you want long, dramatic lashes without having to apply fiddly falsies? Then Santhilea’s Magnetic Lash is the answer to your eyelash prayers. After reading a couple of rave reviews about the Magnetic Lash Mascara, I really wanted to try it and I am so glad I did because it is actually amazing!
The one thing I really don’t get is why the call it magnetic because that’s not actually how it works. But anyway, Santhilea’s Magnetic Lash Mascara comes with two products; a mascara and a lash builder and has a simple 1-2-1 application process. First apply a coat of the Magnetic Mascara and then gently apply the lash builder, which contains lots of soft little fibers. The key is to apply the fibres evenly, concentrating on the ends. Now apply another coat of the Magnetic Mascara, smoothing and sealing the fibres using long brush strokes. Gently comb the mascara over the top rather than zig-zagging and ensure that each lash is thoroughly covered with Magnetic Mascara, to hold the fibres in place. And voila now you have long, fluttery lashes! You can repeat steps two and three as many times as you like, depending on just how long and va-va-voom you want your lashes to be.
I love wearing this mascara when I’m going out at night because it gives me jet black, long and dramatic eyelashes without the fuss of applying falsies because I just never seem to get the time to do this! Have you tried Magnetic Lash Mascara before or a similar fiber lash product?
You can buy Santhilea Magnetic Lash Mascara (£24.98) online at Cult Beauty HERE.
This is probably one of my most overdue blog posts ever! People always ask me what my favourite MAC eyeshadows are and I can so easily rattle off a list of eyeshadow names, but I realised I have never actually shared this with you all on the blog. Shame on me! So finally, here it is! These are some of my favourite MAC eyeshadows.
Because the funny things is, that when I starting thinking about putting this post up I thought I would share my top 10 favourites, but then when I actually tried to select those top ten shades I got a little stuck. It was really hard to select which ones made the top 10 cut and which ones didn’t haha. So in the end I decided to share my top 15 favourite MAC eyeshadows (which also perfectly fits into a MAC 15 pan palette, TADA!)
For my top 15 Favourite MAC eyeshadows I chose the shades that I use most often and that can give you huge variety of gorgeous looks from a natural eye to a glamorous sparkly smokey eye!
Nylon: pale gold with icy shimmer // Retrospeck: beached blonde// Patina: taupe brown with golden pearl // All That Glitters: beige with gold pearl // Mythology: copper // Tempting: sinfully rich coco // Woodwinked: warm antique gold // Twinks: deep plum with pearl // Wedge: soft muted beige taupe // Haux: soft muted rosy brown // Trax: burgundy-plum with shimmer // Club: red-brown with green pearl // Scene: muted blue grey // Knight Divine: black with silver pearl // Carbon: intense matte black.
Wow that was actually very hard because there are still so many other MAC eyeshadows that I love that didn’t make this top 15 list! So what are some of your favourite MAC eyeshadows?
There are so many products I try and go through on a regular basis, that I thought I might start doing some quick posts occasionally about products I am loving. Do you like this idea? OK so here we go; these are some products I am loving at the moment!
Smashbox Fade to Black eyeshadow palette – Fade Out (link) // Eyeko Mascara (link) // L’Oreal Super Liner (link) // DOVE maximum protection deodorant (link) // L’Oreal Skin Perfection (link) // Life NK Shower Gel Trio (link) // Clinique Superprimer Faceprimers (link) // Filorga ISO Structure Day Cream (link)
I got given this set of body washes for Christmas by a girlfriend and am just loving them. These body washes by Life NK don’t only smell delicious but they also support your body and mind. The trio contains Jump Start Body Wash, Ultimate Unwind Body Wash and Drift Away Body Wash (each 100ml). The set is actually on sale at the moment HERE for only £6.00 (usually £12).
Now I know deodorant isn’ the most exciting subject but this is a product I just have to rave about! Over the years I have tried so many deodorants and have never come across anything as good as this. When I was away for NYE a friend gave it to me because I had forgotten to pack deodorant (whoops). She herself was recommended it by a friend because she said that after laser treatment to her underarms she’d found she was sweating a lot more and this deodorant saved her life. And it’s true – this deodorant literally stops you from sweating. I don’t know how it does it, but it works and it also smells fresh and doesn’t stain your clothes. So overall a massive winner and think I will never buy another deodorant again! Available from your local Boots or online for £5.30.
Recently I’ve been using this L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Gel-Cream Wash in the shower. It swiftly removed makeup and impurities leaving my skin feeling soft and perfectly cleansed. Oh and it has no perfume or soap so very gentle. Available from your local Superdrug or online for £4.49.
This Smashbox Fade to Black eyeshadow palette in Fade Out is just perfect for winter! It’s super versatile, seriously cool and top quality. This palette of neutrals starts with the most wearable nudes and ends with the fiercest blacks- all in a range of finishes, from matte to shimmer. Shades include: Soft Pastel Pink, Soft Shimmery Silver, Soft Matte Grey, Violet with multi-color sheen, Earthy Brown with subtle sheen, Deep Matte Purple, Black with Cranberry Pearl. Available from online from £32/$42.
I’d kind of forgotten about this mascara but have rediscovered it and use have been using it pretty much every day recently! Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara (previously called Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara, review here) applies mascara like a dream to both upper and bottom lashes, lengthening them and separating even the shortest lashes. I really like the skinny brush and the formula is super black and doesn’t flake! I used to not like waterproof or water resistant mascara’s but these days I bike to work every day and I need something that’s going to last me all day through wind and rain! Available online for £15/€18/$19.
My go-to liquid eyeliner tool at the moment is the L’Oreal Super Liner – Perfect Slim in black. It has a 0.4mm felt tip which makes applying winged liner a breeze! Available online from $8.99 or at your local Superdrug for £6.99.
Filorga Iso Structure Day Cream has been my saving grace this winter. The Iso-Structure Absolute Firming Day Cream provides much-needed nourishment for tired winter skin by helping to retain the skin’s moisture levels and boost the skin’s suppleness and elasticity. Oh and the formula also increased firmness of the skin and makes my skin feel considerably smoother. Available online from $88/£54 for 50ml. It’s a pretty good-sized jar so should last you quite a while.
I’m a big fan of face primers to make sure my makeup lasts all day and applies smoothly. Recently I’ve been using the Clinique Superprimer range and I think their lightweight, oil-free primers create an ideal makeup canvas. They come in different colour coded options to colour correct a range on complexion concerns, and which one to use depends on your skin; Pink (colour corrects dullness) // Blue (colour corrects shallowness) // Yellow (colour corrects redness) // Coral (colour corrects discolourations) // Brown (colour corrects dullness in deeper skin). Or go for White which is the universal primer and because it’s translucent it quickly preps your skin beautiful for makeup application. I’ve got white, yellow and pink and I just apply one of them/combined over my entire face or where needed with my fingertips before foundation. Available at your local Clinique counter or online from £22/$27 each (20ml)
Have you tried any of these products before or I’d love to know what products you are loving at the moment!
