Karl Lagerfeld Fragrance for Women

“I love perfume. I have worked with fragrances in the past and I’m thrilled to be launching new ones again today. I love women’s fragrances and men’s fragrances. They make life more beautiful. Perfume is like fashion for the nose.” – Karl Lagerfeld.

I think it’s so true that perfume is like fashion for the nose. It’s a way to express yourself. This spring Karl Lagerfeld is relaunching his fragrance category with two new signature scents, one for women and one for men. Here a quick look at the new Karl Lagerfeld Fragrance for women.

The new scents for men and women are based on Lagerfeld’s desire to create fragrances that echo his edgy style, while still feeling classic. The women’s version uses notes of lemon, peach, roses, magnolias, plumeria, and ambery woody notes, while the men’s scent is centered around an aromatic fern with lavender, mandarin zest, apple, violet leaves, sandalwood, and an amber blend.

Speaking about his new scent to Marie Claire recently, Karl said, “Today’s fashion is no longer simply about clothing. It is about the whole package – not just accessories or glasses, but fragrances, too. It is important for a brand to have its own signature perfume. A fragrance is as important as a piece of clothing.”

I have enjoyed wearing the Karl Lagerfeld Fragrance for women recently. It has a contemporary edge to it but also a sophisticated elegance. The fragrances, which start at £32 for 25ml, are now available exclusively at Harrods until 23 March and nationwide from 24 March. Are you curious to try this new fragrance?

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush

In general I tend to prefer powder blushers over cream blushers (with the exception of a few goodies like the Topshop cream blush in Neon Pink or Flush –  link). I find that with powder blush I usually get a smoother and more natural looking finish. However Clinique recently launched their brand new Cheek Pop blushers and I just can’t get enough of them! Clinique Cheek Pop promises to provide ‘a natural blush look with absolutely no trace of powder or buildup on cheeks’.

Clinique’s Cheek Pop innovative formula begins as a smooth liquid which is then transformed through a slow baking process into a completely new distinct powder feel that is luxuriously lightweight in texture and silky smooth to the touch.

The Clinique Cheek Pop range is available in 4 shades to give you that “just-pinched” perfection; Ginger Pop, Berry Pop, Peach Pop and Plum Pop.

From L-R: Clinique’s Cheek Pop in Peach Pop, Berry Pop & Ginger Pop. Oh and how pretty are the daisy design compact cases for these blushers?! To apply I just lightly swirl my blush brush into the compact to pick up the colour and then sweep this onto the apples of my cheek, gently blending the colour towards the cheekbone and temple. I find the formula quite pigmented so remember that a little goes a long way and it’s easy to build up if you want a more vibrant effect.

Elie Saab L’Eau Couture Fragrance

Spring is in the air! And with the weather now slowly warming up, the sun shining and the trees in blossom, it means I also start changing up the fragrances I wear during the day. Instead of choosing stronger and warmer fragrances, I am now loving more fresh and floral perfumes. A new addition to my  (ever growing) fragrance collection is the just launched perfume by Elie Saab L’Eau Couture.

L’Eau Couture was inspired by the designers Ready-to-Wear 2014 Spring/Summer collection, in which delicate fabrics as light as petals chisel a magical fusion between woman and nature. It’s all about capturing blossoming in an urban springtime setting. Light, dreamy with a feel of couture is what Elie Saab has always succeeded in portraying to his public and the same applies to this new perfume.

“We started thinking about how we can say spring in the city. We wanted to have a l’eau, but a l’eau that is balanced with something that is really linked to a fashion DNA, which is the reason why we created L’Eau Couture. It is really the encounter between the l’eau segment and the couture universe.” Francis Kurkdjian

Elie Saab L’Eau Couture is a soft almondy floral fragrance that also includes delicate notes of bergamot, rose, lemon, orange blossom, crisp green almond and vanilla infusion. This fragrance totally embodies spring to me because it is fresh and crisp but still has a level of sensuality and sophistication. Elie Saab Le Parfum L’Eau Couture is now available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette with prices ranging from £31 – £66.

Do you start changing your perfumes as the weather heats up too?

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick

I love wearing red lipstick and even though the selection of shades out there is huge it can be quite tricky sometimes to find the perfect red lipsticks for the right look. So when you find a new favourite, it sure is a happy moment! Some of my current favourites already are MAC So Chaud (review here), MAC Lady Danger (review here) and Collection 2000 Queen of Hearts (review here).

But when I saw these gorgeous campaign images of Estée Lauder’s new Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick range, I instantly fell in love with that red lipstick! Model Carolyn Murphy wears the shade Envious in the shoot and to me it just looks like the perfect Hollywood glamorous red.

The new Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick range promises intense colour (that lasts for up to 6 hours) hydration and a pigmented bullet that sculpts lips, making them appear plumper and more defined.  There are 20 new shades in the collection across 4 categories – Nudes to Browns, Pinks to Berries, Corals to Red and Mauves to Plums.

For me, red lipstick is my go-to when I need an easy “dress-up” look because it’s so simple and classic. This is me the other weekend wearing the new Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in the shade Envious which is described as a warm, bright poppy-red.

How to re-create this look? These are the products I used; Face: Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation in 1C1 (link) // Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer // Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer (review here) // MAC blush in Melba – holygrail blush for me (review here) // Note: my eye makeup looks a lot darker in these photos than it really was because photos were taken at night quickly before I went out - Eyes: MAC eyeshadow in the shade Cork (all over the lid) // MAC eyeshadow in the shade Espresso lightly along the lower lash line // L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Blackbuster Intense (to apply a winged line along the upper lash) // 17 VaVaVoom Mascara // Lips: Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Envious (link) // Necklace is the Gloria Luxurious Crystal Choker from Maison Miru (link & as seen here)

20140306 201446 Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick

Aside from being the perfect classic red to me, what’s most appealing about the Pure Color Envy lipstick is its creamy and rich formula. It is super long-weaering but it moisturises your lips rather than drying them out which is better for long days and nights. Plus it applies so smoothly that you don’t need a lipliner or brush - you just swipe it on and you’re good to go – no bleeding outside the lip lines. I also love the chic and convenient magnetic closure meaning no lid coming off in your handbag!

I really love this colour and formula and I’ve had lots of compliments about it when wearing it. Do you like Envious or have you tried any of the new Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipsticks yet?

Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick (£24 - link) is available at Estée Lauder counters and now.
