Hello everyone, I hope you’re all having a good week! It feels to me like the silly season has officially kicked off. Christmas decorations and lights are popping up all over London and socially life is pretty hectic with most of my nights and weekends already booked up until Christmas. But I won’t complain, it’s all good fun and I do love seeing all the pretty and cosy festive stuff around the city! Plus it means the days are flying by and a Christmas holiday is not far away. However for now, let’s just focus on it being mid-week which means time for my weekly hump day motivation!
“In love and in life, our vulnerability is one of our greatest strengths. We often believe that we risk too much by being vulnerable, but, in fact, the opposite is true. When we build a wall around us to protect ourselves from our big, bad fears, we miss out on so much.”
I love this quote and I think a lot of us struggle with letting our guard down, I certainly know I do! But really we should remind ourselves more often that it is OK to let your guard down because, yes it is a risk and maybe you will get hurt. But you know what; whatever it is…you will get over it. If your senses tell you to take a chance, take it. You don’t want to regret what you didn’t do, but rather what you did do. Happy Hump Day :)
Hello. Hope you’re all having a great week? My life seems to be very much all about work, work and more work at the moment but hey that’s all part of a new job and a new challenge – and that’s what I signed up for! But it does mean the days (even though they are long…) are flying by quickly. So just a quick mid-week motivational post from me today! I totally love this quote, it is so important to set the standards….
“Love yourself. Forgive yourself. Be true to yourself. How you treat yourself sets the standard for how others will treat you.” Steve Maraboli. Happy Hump Day :)
Yay it’s wednesday already so time for some quick mid-week motivation. One of the things I often try to tell myself is to never regret anything. Because if it’s good, it’s going to be wonderful and if it’s bad, it’s going to be an experience. Your mindset really is at the heart of your success and happiness! You have to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you have and be thankful for what you had. Forgive yourself and others, but don’t forget. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t regret. Life is change, things go wrong, and life always goes on.
Winston Churchill once said, “Success is moving from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” Negative thinking creates negative results. Positive thinking creates positive results. Period. Things always turn out best for people who make the best out of the way things turn out. So that’s really one of my big life philosophies; never regret anything!
“I never regret anything. Because every little detail of your life is what made you into who you are in the end.” – Drew Barrymore. Happy Hump Day everyone!
Hello everyone, I am back in London after some wonderful and relaxing days at home in the Netherlands with my family last week. I can’t believe how quickly my holiday in between jobs is flying by – soon it will be Monday and time for me to start my new job!
Anyway, for now it’s that time of the week again for some mid-week inspiration. I love this quote about happiness from Eat, Pray, Love – it’s so true don’t you think? Happy Hump Day!
“People tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will descend like fine weather if you’re fortunate. But happiness is the result of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly.”
– Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love.
Hello everyone! Mid-week again, even though for me there’s no real ‘hump’ to get over this week because I am currently on holiday. Well not really on holiday, but I have some time off between jobs so have gone home to the Netherlands for a week to relax and spend some quality time with my family. After a hectic few weeks, some R&R and quiet time with people that I love is just what my soul needed.
Quiet time also means; lots of time to think. I’ve realised that in life it is really all about your attitude! My dad’s favourite saying is “Make the most of it!” and I think that’s such great advice. All you can do is making the most of everything that comes your way and having a positive attitude. “Attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure. Change your attitude. Change your world.” So even when you are given a difficult situation, simply turn it in to an adventure :)
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past; we cannot change the fact that people behave in a certain way; we cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is to play on that one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.” – Chuck Swindoll
Happy Hump Day!
