Do you like you?

Hello! I am back in London after an amazing holiday in Turkey. I’ll share some photos from my trip on the blog soon, but I definitely recommend adding Turkey to your holiday wish-list if you’ve never been before. It was a bit of a shock to the system to be back at work yesterday but luckily it’s hump day again already today so not long to go until the weekend. This week’s motivational message is all about loving your natural beauty inspired by Colbie Caillat!

These quotes are from Colbie’s new single called ‘Try’. It’s a beautiful song about loving yourself and the video which sees her strip down to a makeup-free face, has hit more than 15 million views and counting. Colbie Caillat: “Women have been going through this daily struggle of covering up what we really look like for years now, with makeup, Photoshop, or feeling the need to wear less clothing to be sexy. God forbid we look normal and human ;)” Check out the inspiring video below!

I’m just loving this song at the moment and think she’s setting a great example for girls and women all over the world. As said recently by Colbie “we are not alone in our insecurities” and remember that you don’t have to change a single thing! Happy Hump Day everyone :)

Escape life?

Hello or I should say ‘Merhaba’ from Turkey! I arrived in Turkey very late Sunday night and the last few days have been soaking up the sun and relaxing in the town of Bozburun with one of my best friends. Bozburun is a very quiet fisherman’s town near Marmaris on the Aegean Coast. It’s actually very nice to be in a quiet place for a bit to just relax and focus on not doing much at all. We’ve been sunbathing, swimming, reading, going out on the water & eating, and it feels wonderful to escape the hustle and bustle of London for a bit. Came across this quote the other day and thought it was appropriate for today’s midweek message!

What do you want?

The million dollar in life is – what do you want? Because life is what you make it and you can have anything you want if you work hard enough – right? So then only thing you have to do is to figure out WHAT it is you want and then going from point A to point B to get it. Simple, right?  WRONG!

Life is about the journey, the biggest and most important part of your journey is finding out what the world has to offer and determining if what is offered is what you will accept. Don’t limit yourself. Sometimes it is easier to find out what it is you DON’T want, so that you can begin the voyage of finding out what it is that you DO want. I think it’s important to evaluate your experiences and remember that what works for someone else might not work for you. IT’S OKAY; go to the next option (trust me, there are many) and be patient and realistic about your expectations.

Remember, life is a journey and journeys are not meant to be quick and easy. They are meant to be traveled. Happy Hump Day everyone :)

True right? Happy Hump Day everyone! I am actually very excited about today because I am going to Wimbledon for the day with two friends. It’s been on my to-do list ever since I moved to London and after 4 years I have still not managed to tick that box. So I thought, enough is enough – I need to go. So I’ve taken the day off work and we are going to line up very early to try and get into the grounds to soak up the atmosphere, watch some tennis and of course eat some strawberries and cream! Oeh and maybe some Pimm’s in the (hopefully) sunshine. Follow me on instagram here to see how we get on at Wimbledon today :)

50 Healthy Habits

I came across this list of ’50 Healthy Habits Every Girl Should Have’ on Pinterest and just had to share with you all. As I read all 50 habits I agree wholeheartedly with each one. Such great habits every lady should have.  So enjoy and share with a great girlfriend in your life!

There is more information on each habit on the original post HERE as posted on but these were some habits that stood out most to me personally, and that I want to pay more attention to from now on!

1. Start fresh every single day. 
It might sound a little corny, but every day could—and should—be considered a fresh start. Had a fight with your mom/boyfriend/landlord yesterday and didn’t resolve it? Had an awful day at work that you went to bed thinking about? Not thrilled with the way your friends treated you while you were out last night? Today’s a new day, and you should use it to approach the problem with fresh eyes and commit to either resolving the issue if it’s important, or move on completely if it’s something small or petty. You’d be surprised how insignificant problems might look once you put a few hours of distance between you.

5. Drink a glass of lukewarm water with lemon (and cayenne pepper, if you dare) first thing every morning. 
This morning drink gets your organs going, and fresh lemon juice and cayenne pepper both have major anti-fungal, immune boosting, and detoxification properties. Plus, Lemon juice is nature’s best tool for aiding in digestion and regularity, destroying bacteria and cleansing the system.

10. Count to 10 when you’re pissed off.
This healthy habit is one we all should adopt: Before reacting, take a beat. You’d be surprised at how much perspective you can gain in 10 seconds, as opposed to irrationally firing off an email, or confronting someone out of sheer anger before collecting your thoughts.

12. Put. Down. The. Cell. Phone.
Not only is it incredibly rude and predictable to always be on your phone, but obsessively stalking your cell before bed can have serious health effects. According ot the Daily Mail, staring at your mobile’s screen at bedtime causes people to take longer to reach the deeper stages of sleep and to spend less time in them. Bad news, as deep sleep is essential for your body to rejuvenate cells and repair damage suffered during the day. Seriously, Instagram can wait until morning.

27. Drink water.
It’s not rocket science: If plants—which are living things—wilt without water, we will too. Try keeping a large water bottle at your desk throughout the day and refilling it each time you’re done. Water hydrates our organs and our brain, so we’ll not only feel more awake, but look it, too. Dehydration has been shown to cause agitation, fatigue, and general unpleasantness. If you’re freezing and craving something hot, drink green tea, which is packed with antioxidants due to its high content of flavonoids.

48. Shop on a full stomach.
Never go grocery shopping when you’re super-hungry. Why? Because everything looks good, so you’ll undoubtedly start throwing in items you normally would never buy.
