In general I tend to prefer powder blushers over cream blushers (with the exception of a few goodies like the Topshop cream blush in Neon Pink or Flush – link). I find that with powder blush I usually get a smoother and more natural looking finish. However Clinique recently launched their brand new Cheek Pop blushers and I just can’t get enough of them! Clinique Cheek Pop promises to provide ‘a natural blush look with absolutely no trace of powder or buildup on cheeks’.
Clinique’s Cheek Pop innovative formula begins as a smooth liquid which is then transformed through a slow baking process into a completely new distinct powder feel that is luxuriously lightweight in texture and silky smooth to the touch.
The Clinique Cheek Pop range is available in 4 shades to give you that “just-pinched” perfection; Ginger Pop, Berry Pop, Peach Pop and Plum Pop.
From L-R: Clinique’s Cheek Pop in Peach Pop, Berry Pop & Ginger Pop. Oh and how pretty are the daisy design compact cases for these blushers?! To apply I just lightly swirl my blush brush into the compact to pick up the colour and then sweep this onto the apples of my cheek, gently blending the colour towards the cheekbone and temple. I find the formula quite pigmented so remember that a little goes a long way and it’s easy to build up if you want a more vibrant effect.
Products used: Clinique Stay Matte foundation in #9 (loving this foundation!) // Paula’s Choice Soft cream concealer (link) // Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop (link) / Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer // MAC Paintpot in Rubenesque applied all over the lid // MAC Tan Pigment applied to the middle of the lid // Smashbox Full Exposure Palette (link) matte Nude colour blended into the crease and the darker matte natural shade applied to lower lash line // Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara // Estee Lauder Smashing Pink Lipgloss (as seen here).
Clinique’s Cheek Pop is available now at your local Clinique counter or online at www.clinique.co.uk for £16.50. Do you like the look of these Cheek Pop’s?
I love it when beauty and charities come together and Clinique has always been a bit supporter of this concept. And this February actually marks 10 years for of their Kiss It Better appeal with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. This month Clinique, supported by House of Fraser, are doing their bit again in raising money to fund research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancer.
For 2014, Clinique has created a new A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins in the shade “Kiss it Better”. This limited edition shade is a vibrant hot pink that has a beautifully balanced formula which maintains a high gloss, streak free finish whilst being gentle on sensitive skins. Wearing this nail polish on the weekend made me feel like spring had arrived, it’s such a fun colour! Oh and one of the other things I love about Clinique’s nail polishes is the brush; they make applying the lacquer a dream.
“Kiss it Better” will be sold exclusively at House of Fraser stores nationwide and online at www.houseoffraser.co.uk and www.clinique.co.uk during February. For each nail enamel sold, 50% of the retail price (£12) will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Children Charity.
There are also plenty of other ways to get involved in the charity campaign. For example treat yourself to a new Clinique lipstick or lip gloss from House of Fraser and £2.00 from each item will be donated to the appeal. I am a big fan of the Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Glosses (a previous review here) with Currant, Ginger and Apricot being some of my holy-grail glosses.
And in celebration of the 10 year anniversary, Lulu Guinness has now joined in the campaign, teaming up with Clinique to to create two exclusive sets from which 100% of the RRP will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

There are so many products I try and go through on a regular basis, that I thought I might start doing some quick posts occasionally about products I am loving. Do you like this idea? OK so here we go; these are some products I am loving at the moment!
Smashbox Fade to Black eyeshadow palette – Fade Out (link) // Eyeko Mascara (link) // L’Oreal Super Liner (link) // DOVE maximum protection deodorant (link) // L’Oreal Skin Perfection (link) // Life NK Shower Gel Trio (link) // Clinique Superprimer Faceprimers (link) // Filorga ISO Structure Day Cream (link)
I got given this set of body washes for Christmas by a girlfriend and am just loving them. These body washes by Life NK don’t only smell delicious but they also support your body and mind. The trio contains Jump Start Body Wash, Ultimate Unwind Body Wash and Drift Away Body Wash (each 100ml). The set is actually on sale at the moment HERE for only £6.00 (usually £12).
Now I know deodorant isn’ the most exciting subject but this is a product I just have to rave about! Over the years I have tried so many deodorants and have never come across anything as good as this. When I was away for NYE a friend gave it to me because I had forgotten to pack deodorant (whoops). She herself was recommended it by a friend because she said that after laser treatment to her underarms she’d found she was sweating a lot more and this deodorant saved her life. And it’s true – this deodorant literally stops you from sweating. I don’t know how it does it, but it works and it also smells fresh and doesn’t stain your clothes. So overall a massive winner and think I will never buy another deodorant again! Available from your local Boots or online for £5.30.
Recently I’ve been using this L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Gel-Cream Wash in the shower. It swiftly removed makeup and impurities leaving my skin feeling soft and perfectly cleansed. Oh and it has no perfume or soap so very gentle. Available from your local Superdrug or online for £4.49.
This Smashbox Fade to Black eyeshadow palette in Fade Out is just perfect for winter! It’s super versatile, seriously cool and top quality. This palette of neutrals starts with the most wearable nudes and ends with the fiercest blacks- all in a range of finishes, from matte to shimmer. Shades include: Soft Pastel Pink, Soft Shimmery Silver, Soft Matte Grey, Violet with multi-color sheen, Earthy Brown with subtle sheen, Deep Matte Purple, Black with Cranberry Pearl. Available from online from £32/$42.
I’d kind of forgotten about this mascara but have rediscovered it and use have been using it pretty much every day recently! Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara (previously called Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara, review here) applies mascara like a dream to both upper and bottom lashes, lengthening them and separating even the shortest lashes. I really like the skinny brush and the formula is super black and doesn’t flake! I used to not like waterproof or water resistant mascara’s but these days I bike to work every day and I need something that’s going to last me all day through wind and rain! Available online for £15/€18/$19.
My go-to liquid eyeliner tool at the moment is the L’Oreal Super Liner – Perfect Slim in black. It has a 0.4mm felt tip which makes applying winged liner a breeze! Available online from $8.99 or at your local Superdrug for £6.99.
Filorga Iso Structure Day Cream has been my saving grace this winter. The Iso-Structure Absolute Firming Day Cream provides much-needed nourishment for tired winter skin by helping to retain the skin’s moisture levels and boost the skin’s suppleness and elasticity. Oh and the formula also increased firmness of the skin and makes my skin feel considerably smoother. Available online from $88/£54 for 50ml. It’s a pretty good-sized jar so should last you quite a while.
I’m a big fan of face primers to make sure my makeup lasts all day and applies smoothly. Recently I’ve been using the Clinique Superprimer range and I think their lightweight, oil-free primers create an ideal makeup canvas. They come in different colour coded options to colour correct a range on complexion concerns, and which one to use depends on your skin; Pink (colour corrects dullness) // Blue (colour corrects shallowness) // Yellow (colour corrects redness) // Coral (colour corrects discolourations) // Brown (colour corrects dullness in deeper skin). Or go for White which is the universal primer and because it’s translucent it quickly preps your skin beautiful for makeup application. I’ve got white, yellow and pink and I just apply one of them/combined over my entire face or where needed with my fingertips before foundation. Available at your local Clinique counter or online from £22/$27 each (20ml)
Have you tried any of these products before or I’d love to know what products you are loving at the moment!

Did you know that we touch our eyes on average about 200 times a day? And with all that contact with your hands and fingers throughout the day, there are many ways you can irritate your eyes. I never knew any of this but dermatologists actually say that nail enamel is considered a significant allergen source for facial rashes that can develop around the upper and lower eyelids, which more common for people with sensitive skin.
So the Clinique scientists got to work and strived to develop a nail enamel formulated to minimise unwanted reactions to the nails and skin and eyes. And they succeeded because in April Clinique finally launched their A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins line!
A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins is formulated to minimise skin sensitivity. It is dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested and appropriate for sensitive skins and sensitive eyes.
The collection contains 12 permanent shades and 9 limited edition shades will also be offered for Summer 2013. I received four colours of the collection to try for myself; Made of Steel, Hi Sweetie, Really Rio and Fizzy.
I found the formula of the A Different Nail Enamel really good. It is quick drying, delivers high shine and the thin flat brush means easy and streak free application. In these images I am wearing just two coats without a base or top coat – great shine right!
I love all four colours with Made of Steel as a edgy deep blue grey, Hi Sweetie and Really Rio are such fun and bright colours and Fizzy is a natural but slightly shimmery champagne nude. And they are shades that can be worn all year round; perfect for day & night!
With regards to sensitivity it’s a little hard to actually test the claims, because I personally don’t have very sensitive skin or have ever had any issues with nail polishes. But if you have sensitive skin or can get a rash around your eyes sometimes, it would be worth giving these new clinique nail enamels a go!
Oh and while at the Clinique counter, maybe try their Hand & Cuticle Cream – I have been loving this stuff . It’s rich, non-greasy and makes my hands feel wonderfully soft!

What do you think of these four nail polish shades and the idea of a special nail enamel for people sensitive skin?
