YES!! Hooray, it is here again. The ZARA sale officially kicked off in the UK last Friday. So on my day off today (between starting my new job) I couldn’t help popping by my local ZARA store to see if I could score up any lovely bargains. With the ZARA sale you always have to be in quick because the best pieces and sizes sell out super fast!
After trying on quite a few bits and pieces I decided to get these items….
And then I spotted these shoes!! I’d been lusting after some ankle strap heels for a while now, but I find most ZARA shoes ridiculously high so I’d resisted to buy a pair, until now..
Ankle Strap Sandal (similar pair here), now £19.99
Now that’s a whole lotta leg! ;)
Loving my sale purchases. Are you going to check out the ZARA sale?
Over the weekend I indulged in some retail therapy after having not felt very well the last few days. It’s not like I really needed any of these items, but hey when you find some great buys and end up spending no more than £25.99 per item it’s allowed right?
These are the purchases I made at H&M and ZARA.
White Blazer £24.99 (link) // Black leather look skirt £19.99
Turquoise sleeveless shift dress £25.99 (link) //White tulip skirt £25.99 (link)
Light orange and white combination strappy top £22.99 (link)
I’ve wanted a white blazer for ages and this one from H&M was a steal at that price. I loved its tuxedo style neckline and I will get so much wear out of it this summer; pairing it with dresses, jeans, shorts and skirts for both casual and dressy looks. Turquoise is one of my favourite colours so I felt this shift dress would add a nice pop of colour to my office wardrobe! Or add some fun heels or a bold statement necklace for a bright summer’s evening outfit.
What do you think of my recent purchases – such bargains don’t you think? Plus all items are pretty classic which makes them easy to combine with other items from my wardrobe for numerous stylish looks. Do you agree that both ZARA and H&M are stocked with great collections at the moment? Must try avoid that danger zone!! ;)
Summer in the UK doesn’t always mean hot amazing weather; pretty much as long as the sun is out and our jackets can stay at home we are all very happy people! This is a recent outfit of the day when the sun was shining in London and we all pretended for it to be summer time, but when really it was only about 15 degrees outside.
Therefore ‘summer’ here still means jumper-weather and that’s why I think a bright knit is a wardrobe staple for this time of the year. I already love my neon lime/yellow knit from ZARA (as seen here) so when I spotted this neon coral version recently I just couldn’t help myself. Bright colours just make me smile – what’s not to love?!
Neon coral jumper by ZARA – £25.99 (link) // White plain t-shirt by H&M // Destroyed Skinny Jeans by Abercrombie & Fitch (as seen here) // Sunglasses by Ray Ban // Leopard suede printed flats from ALDO // Watch by Michael Kors.
Are you, like me, a fan of neon and bright coloured jumpers for a fun summery look?
It is almost that time of the year again……QUEENS DAY!! As you may have read on here before, every year I travel back home to The Netherlands at the end of April to celebrate the Dutch Queens birthday by partying up a storm on the canals of Amsterdam. You can see some pictures of my previous orange fun times here and here. It is one of my favourite days ever and this year again I have organised a boat and am taking 35 of my friends on an adventure to my home country to show them how we party orange style!
One of the rules of Queens Day is that you have to wear orange. Well, you don’t have to, but you would look a bit out of place if you don’t! Now luckily this is not an issue for me because I love wearing orange anyway. And no, it’s not just because I am Dutch! Every time I wear orange people always say ‘of course you love it, you’re Dutch!’ but really it’s got nothing to do with that. I just love this bright and happy colour and think everyone should own something in the colour orange in their wardrobe, especially for summer!
So with me jetting off to Amsterdam this weekend, I have to admit I have been suffering a bit from Orange Fever and with so much orange in fashion at the moment, it has been hard not to shop up a storm filling my wardrobe with even more orange items!
Because some people might fear this bright colour and perhaps aren’t so sure how to wear orange, I thought I’d create a little collage to show you how I would style it and look fashionable and very on-trend.
I did buy a pair of orange skinny jeans recently which will come in very handy this weekend for my Queens Day celebrations. Plus I also really love these orange heels by ZARA and was very tempted the other day to buy them but I haven’t yet (they were quite high…) but I am still thinking about it ;)
So what do you think, you be wearing orange this summer?
Here a recent outfit of the day with my ZARA leather collar & zip coat, that I picked up in the ZARA sale back in December. I’d fallen in love with a coat of a similar design at Sandro (link) months ago, but at the time wasn’t really able to fork out €330 for it! You can imagine my joy when I saw one of my favourite fashion bloggers; Andy from Style Scrapbook in that same coat (see pics here & here) but in the captions underneath it said it was from ZARA? It still took me a little while to make the purchase but when I spotted it in the sales rackes; there really was no holding me back any longer; this coat had to be mine!!
The asymmetric zips and real leather detailing give this coat an expensive feel and I just love the edgy and modern yet classic style of this coat. It’s the perfect coat you can dress up or down depending on how you wear it. I have received many compliments on it so definitely a winning purchase!
These photos were taken when I was at Somerset House two weeks ago when I was there to check out the Valentino: Master of Couture exhibition. I really loved admiring all the exquisite couture dresses by Valentino; the detail in some gowns is just amazing! The exhibition is still on until 3rd March so if you have the chance, I definitely recommend checking it out!
