Pin It Forward UK – Are you on Pinterest yet?

I am a total Pinterest addict, so when they got in touch to see if I’d like to be involved in their Pin it Forward UK campaign to celebrate their official launch in the UK, I was more than happy to spread the love!

If you are not familiar with Pinterest yet then it’s about time you jumped on board! Pinterest is an online tool for collecting and organizing things that you love. It’s a bit like a virtual set of moodboards that you can continually add to without running out of space. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favourite recipes. You can ‘pin’ from other websites and clip images into Pinterest, or you can repin images that appear on your timeline from other pinners that you follow. Browsing other peoples pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share the same interests. These are some of my boards!

Recent updates to Pinterest now allow you to keep both public and private boards. Public boards can be seen by all Pinterest users, giving users the choice of searching for ideas within Pinterest itself, while private board can only be seen by people who are allowed to pin on that board. For example I may or may not have a secret wedding pinboard…ssshhhhh! Is that really bad seeing I am single? Haha!

Before the days of Pinterest, I used to collect pictures and clips from magazines and pile them into a notebook or pin them onto a cork board, or I’d bookmark many different websites to remember links to articles and images. Pinterest has made all this so much easier for me and what’s the best about Pinterest is that each image links back to its source, so with one click on the visual image it will take you back to details/link of the image as well! Amazing right?

The #pinitforward campaign means that over 30 days, 300 bloggers from the UK will be featuring their favourite Pinterest boards to give you some ideas of what fun and beautiful boards you can create yourself! One of my favourite boards has to be my Fashion Inspirations board where I pin images of street style fashionistas, bloggers and celebs outfits that that I love. The images always give me inspiration to create looks with items from my own wardrobe or to keep up to date with the fashion trends. Click on the link below to have a look at some of my favourite pinned fashion looks.

Neon Pink & Green Gem Statement Necklace

A few weekends ago I had a lovely Sunday with friends at the Columbia Road flowers markets. I blogged some instagram shots of the day here - link. Because one of my friends is an amazing photographer we couldn’t resist a fun little photoshoot.

Back in March I spotted this amazing neon & gem statement necklace in Stylist Magazine and I instantly new I had to make it mine. I rushed onto the New Look website and made a quick purchase. That was a smart move in the end because it was sold out the day after and I have received so many comments on it!

This is definitely a bold & high bling factor kind of statement necklace that you can add to any outfit to sparkle it up. I think it looks amazing with a little black or white dress, a simple white t-shirt and jeans, or as seen here with a denim shirt for a fun but casual look.

Even though this beauty has now sold out I would definitely recommend checking out New Look’s accessory range, they have a great collection including some more neon bling! For example I love these yellow neon earrings or this pink neon necklace.

Do you like this way of styling a bling statement necklace?

Recent retail therapy: H&M & ZARA purchases

Over the weekend I indulged in some retail therapy after having not felt very well the last few days. It’s not like I really needed any of these items, but hey when you find some great buys and end up spending no more than £25.99 per item it’s allowed right?

These are the purchases I made at H&M and ZARA.

White Blazer £24.99 (link) // Black leather look skirt £19.99
Turquoise sleeveless shift dress £25.99 (link) //White tulip skirt £25.99 (link)
Light orange and white combination strappy top £22.99 (link)

I’ve wanted a white blazer for ages and this one from H&M was a steal at that price. I loved its tuxedo style neckline and I will get so much wear out of it this summer; pairing it with dresses, jeans, shorts and skirts for both casual and dressy looks. Turquoise is one of my favourite colours so I felt this shift dress would add a nice pop of colour to my office wardrobe! Or add some fun heels or a bold statement necklace for a bright summer’s evening outfit.

What do you think of my recent purchases – such bargains don’t you think? Plus all items are pretty classic which makes them easy to combine with other items from my wardrobe for numerous stylish looks. Do you agree that both ZARA and H&M are stocked with great collections at the moment? Must try avoid that danger zone!! ;)
