Just love this recent red carpet look by Scarlett Johansson at the premiere of her new movie, Under The Skin, this week at the 70th Annual Venice International Film Festival.
I think she looks stunning and not to mention incredibly sexy in in this back off-the-sholder Versace gown. She really shows that all you needs sometimes is a simple black dress with some sequin detailing on the arms and lots of va-va-voom cleavage to rock a red carpet! Her hair and makeup was classic and elegant but the multi-coloured Bvlgari statement necklace kept the look very modern.
This is her and her (handsome) boyfriend Romain Dauriac arriving at the Palazza del Cinema. Oh and I loooooove the sunglasses Scarlett is wearing here, I need to find out which ones they are! Any ideas?

I came across these photos the other day with Kate Hudson for the Ann Taylor 2013 Fall Campaign and just loved them. She looks so beautiful and the styling, feel and photography is gorgeous. Also the two boys in the photos are her actual little nephews. How cute are they?
Speaking about the project, the 34-year-old mother-of-two herself says, “This campaign definitely feels like me. It’s a little bit about how I live. The 24/7 lives we all lead. You’re trying to juggle it all and look fabulous and be there for your family and get out the door to your job. I mean this is the wild, wonderful life women live today! I love it. I just love what Ann Taylor is doing this season. It’s chic and it’s real.”
Kate is definitely one of my style icons!

On Sunday afternoon I went to the movies to see the new and highly anticipated Baz Luhrman film ‘The Great Gatsby’. I’d seen the previews and all the buzz surrounding the movie and actors made this a movie on my to-see list. The Great Gatsby is a romantic drama adaptation of the famous F. Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel by the same name. I actually never read the book so I had no real expectations of the story. I was a little worried I might not like the film because I seem to be one of very few people that never really liked (Baz Luhrman’s) Moulin Rouge.
This new adaptation of The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the young mysterious business magnate Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy, the object of his passion, and Tobey Maguire as Daisy’s cousin Nick, the outsider-insider through whose wondering narration the story is filtered. The setting for this vibrant movie is New York in the roaring 20s. Not having read the book I can’t really say if it does the original novel justice, but I actually enjoyed the movie very much.
I loved Leonardo in this film – he’s funny and dramatic at the same time and portrays the character of the mysterious Mr Gatsby really well. Oh and did I mention he’s so very handsome? ;)
This movie really re-sparked my love for the 20s era. After walking out of the cinema I really wanted to get dressed up in a stunning flapper dress and get dancing away at one of these amazing parties! The movie is certainly visually spectacular plus another thing I really liked about the movie was the soundtrack! Baz Luhrman hired American rap royalty Jay-Z as executive producer which gave the music a sexy and dangerous mood. The soundtrack has a mix of songs that blend of hip-hop, traditional jazz and other contemporary musical together. I have downloaded the soundtrack and these so far are my favourite songs:
- A Little Party Never Killed Nobody by Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock)
- Young & Beautiful by Lana Del Ray
- Over the Love by Florence and the Machine
- Into the past by Nero
- Bang Bang by Will.I.am
- Crazy in Love by Emili Sandé
See the trailer for the movie below featuring some of these songs….

On Sunday the 85th Academy Awards took place in LA. I always love seeing what the stars wear at the most hyped up awards show of the season but I have to say that in general I was a little bit underwhelmed by the red carpet looks this year. However here a quick outline of my best dressed at the Oscars 2013.
My favourite would have to be Jessica Chastain in Armani Privé. She looks so elegant and like a bono-fida movie-star! The gold gown fits her beautifully and suits her porcelain complexion. The red lips and her incredible curls finishes off the look perfectly!
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior! She won the Oscar that night for best actress and I loved the film Silver Linings Playbook so I felt her win was well deserved. Her dress is a total knockout and she kept the rest of the styling and accessories simple to let this dramatic gown to all the talking. I also loved the sparkly necklace bit attached to the dress at the back. As beautiful as the dress was; it did cause her to tumble on the stairs when going up to accept her award but I love Jennifer; she just laughed it off! She seems a great down-to-earth girl, and her post winning interview cracked me up (see video here).
Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta. Normally I am not that keen on too much ruffles and frill but I loved this silver grey dress. It was gorgeous from the back with the long sweep and I bet it made her feel like a princess :)
Naomi Watts sparkled in a one-shouldered Armani Prive gown! She was incredible in ‘The Impossible’ so her nomination was very well deserved. I like the dark beaded sequins and the different and modern feel of this dress. Hair and makeup was kept simple which I think was appropriate with this kind of ‘look at me’ dress.
Other notable mentions are for Charlize Theron in Dior Couture (even with her short shaved hairstyle I think she is still one of the most beautiful woman in Hollywood), Kerry Washington in Miu Miu and Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab.

Have you seen the red carpet photos from the 2013 Grammy Awards show? Here a quick post on what I thought were the Best Beauty looks. For me, Rihanna was the ultimate Grammy Beauty Queen! Ever the chameleon, Rihanna looked exceptionally romantic with her hair in perfect golden ombré waves while rocking a bold red lip that perfectly matched her stunning custom Azzedine Alaia dress.
Some of my other favourite beauty looks were…
1. Alexa Chung brightened up her adorable floral Valentino frock with a splash of red lippy. She looked simply sweet and effortlessly indie chic! 2. Beyonce also went for a red lip as a pop of colour against her (very on-trend) monochrome jumpsuit. Love the sleek wrapped low ponytail. 3. Jennifer Lopez rocked a super tight twisted top-knot which drew the attention to her Cleopatra inspired graphic eyeliner. 4. Taylor Swift looked angelic in a cream J.Mendel gown with silver detailing, completing her sophisticated look with her hair swept into a plaited up-do. 5. Karlie Kloss opted for a shimmery grey/blue smokey eye to enhance her stunning bright blue Michael Kors frock. Loving the wavy bob hairstyle too! 6. New mum Adele looked radiant and stayed true to her retro look with a classic updo and winged out liner with lots of false lashes.
