Last Saturday was a night of celebrating! One of my best friends had finally handed in her dissertation for her Masters degree that week, so it was time to take her out to let her hair down to celebrate she was a free woman once again. Venue wise we decided on dinner and drinks at Bodo’s Schloss in Kensington. It had been a while since I’d gone out all dressed up so I felt this girls night out was a great excuse to wear a new red lace dress. Makeup wise I went for a simple smokey eye with two of my favourite eyeshadows; MAC Twinks & MAC Woodwinked.
MAC Woodwinked (link) is a gorgeous warm antiqued bronze gold colour, it is shimmery but not glittery, more metallic. This shade is very versatile. On an everyday basis it looks great on the lid and blended into the crease on its own or you can use it to create a sexy smokey bronzed eye for the night matched with darker colours. It also works great with colors like greens, purples and deep blues.
MAC Twinks (link) is one of the most lovely brown eyeshadows out there! It has a brown base but with red, plum and gold tones running through it. A beautiful day or night eyeshadow and it manages to looks good with every eye colour and skin tone. When I wear it I find it really makes my blue eyes POP!
Products used to create this look: Bourjois Healthy Serum Foundation (Shade 53) review here // NEW Estee Lauder Pure Color Cheek Rush in Hot Fuse (link). Am loving this sheer gel textured blush, it gives you bright colour pay off and glowing cheeks! // MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow applied all over the lid // MAC Twinks eyeshadow applied to outer 1/3 of lid, blended upwards into crease and along the lower lash line// Estee Lauder Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner in Blackened Black (review here) applied to the waterline // L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim applied to top lash line with slight wing // NARS Larger Than Life Volume mascara // Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (review here) Hadn’t used this little beauty for a while but falling in love with it all over again // Lips; Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Currant (as seen here).
Oh and I mentioned a new little red lacy number? Well here it is! It’s a one shoulder asymmetric lace dress that I picked up from H&M about a month ago. This is the link for it online but it seems to be all sold out but you might still be able to find it in store!
