Last weekend I officially entered the last year of my 20′s. Yep….it was my birthday and I turned 29, eeeeek!! Now I love throwing a good party so to celebrate I wanted to host a dinner for a big group of my friends and for everyone all dressed up for the occasion. Hey, it’s my party right so can I make the rules ;)
After some research to find the right place I found a lovely venue to host my dinner at in Notting Hill being First Floor Restaurant on Portobello Road. I booked out the whole restaurant on the (ahhh you guessed it) First Floor, chose a set menu for my guests to enjoy and agreed we’d have the room (including bar) exclusively until 1am. The room has a lovely elegant feel to it with big windows, flowers and candles everywhere which made it the perfect venue for the Dutchess 29th Birthday Soiree.
It was great getting all dressed up and having so many of my friends there, looking super glamorous, to celebrate my birthday with me was very special. I really am one lucky girl to have such wonderful people in my life. I will do a separate blog post on my makeup look for that night but here some photos I took during the evening. I recently got a Fuji Instax 210 polaroid camera and was very excited to use it for the first time at the party. Polaroids are SO much fun……”Shake it like a polaroid picture!!”
Some quick photos before leaving the house to head to dinner!
PS: to upload these pictures I actually took photos of the final polaroids with my iPhone, uploaded them onto my PC and then inserted them into a polaroid frames (similar ones you can download here) on Photoshop. The Fuji Instax 210 takes wide instant photos and even though it’s not the easiest for sharing online or via social media, the fun of having only 1x shot at a good picture and getting it right there in your hand as a photo straight away is super cool. I can’t wait to use the polaroid camera more often going forward.
Thank you to all my lovely friends who came to my dinner because I had a wonderful evening. Bring on next year’s party I say. The big THREE ZERO, eeeeek! But for now I am looking forward to see what the last year in my 20′s will bring me, I’m excited :)
