Floral print proves to be very popular again this summer with the high street stores filled with bold floral printed dresses, trousers and jackets! And as much as I like girly things, I have to admit that floral print isn’t always my thing but I do own 1-2 printed numbers (see here & here). However when I was out exploring the shops in Madrid the other week I spotted this girl in a fun light floral bomber jacket that gave me serious clothes envy so I had to ask her where it was from! And yay I was in luck, it was from Bershka and she’d only bought it recently. So next stop during this shopping day? You guessed it Bershka!
Here is me wearing it on Sunday – the sun was shining and it finally felt like summer! Which made it the perfect time to rock my new floral bomber jacket…
While some floral prints may make you think about your grandmother’s closet, many designers have incorporated a more modern feel floral trend into their spring/summer 2013 collections. For jackets it is used in various jacket styles, ranging from blazers, bomber, silks and even denim. And the floral patterns are large, small, ditsy, abstract, bright, pastel, neutral or tonal. So there is lots of variety.
How to wear the floral jacket trend? If you are a neutral lover, you can try to mix your floral jacket with white pants, a simple chic top and your platform shoes. You should be careful about the colors. Choose monochromatic tones with a simple tailoring because you don’t want your top to compete with the colorful floral jacket. Is your style casual ? No problem! Combine your floral jacket with simple items, such as a t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans plus some nice ballerina flats. The main idea is to let your cute floral jacket shine and be the star among your clothing items!
PS – what do you think of my new boyfriend jeans? I’ve been umming and ahhing about getting a pair of these for ages. I simply adore the look on others but have always been a little bit worried I can’t pull it off…..
