I love finding new and fun restaurants and recently I discovered this little gem in Covent Garden! Over the last few years Homeslice Pizza wowed Londoners with their pizzas, selling slices on the streets and at food markets from their mobile oven. But in March this year they finally found a permanent home and opened their Homeslice Pizza Restaurant in colourful Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden.
The formula at Homeslice is simple; Pizza, Beer, Wine, Prosecco! BOOM :)
The cosy 50-seat restaurant menu is simple; they only offer about 5- 7 pizza choices a day. The classic Margarita is always on the menu but the other pizzas change regularly but think toppings like pork belly, courgette & artichoke or bone marrow. Yummm…..
Pricing is just as simple because a slice of pizza, a glass of prosecco or wine or a pint are all priced at £4 each, eat in or take away! Or you can go all out and order the massive 20-incher, which will feed you and 2 of yours friends easily for only £20.
I had booked a table for me and six of my girls (yes they take bookings for groups between 5 and 10 people!!) and whilst trying to decide what pizzas to order, we got stuck into the prosecco and wine, which they offer on tap. My kind of place….
To start us off we ordered 2x of the 20 inch pizzas to share and they even let us have half half toppings on these enormous thin-crust pizzas.
It all looked and smelled delicious so we couldn’t wait to dig in!
At Homeslice you eat pizza the best way, with your hands! They only offer paper plates and napkins and no cutlery so you just have to get your hands dirty.
After quickly demolishing those two massive pizzas, we decided to get another two. I mean at £20 a pizza it’s just too hard to resist and we just loved getting stuck in with the pizza cutters haha.
With our bellies very full of prosecco and pizza we were happy girls!! The waiter was very impressed with our pizza eating efforts and said we’d set a new woman vs pizza record. Hmmm I’m not really sure that was a compliment but hey we will take it anyway ;)
The staff at Homeslice Pizza are super friendly and service is quick, without making you feel rushed. Homeslice is perfect for a fun casual night out with friends and I will definitely be visiting again!
YES!! Hooray, it is here again. The ZARA sale officially kicked off in the UK last Friday. So on my day off today (between starting my new job) I couldn’t help popping by my local ZARA store to see if I could score up any lovely bargains. With the ZARA sale you always have to be in quick because the best pieces and sizes sell out super fast!
After trying on quite a few bits and pieces I decided to get these items….
And then I spotted these shoes!! I’d been lusting after some ankle strap heels for a while now, but I find most ZARA shoes ridiculously high so I’d resisted to buy a pair, until now..

Today is my very last day at my current job and as I look back over my two and a half years here; I can say I have some pretty amazing memories. But in all honestly a job is a just a job and in the end what makes it special are the people you spend your days with.
I have been SO very lucky that through this job I have met one of my best friends who I know will be in my life forever. Erin, this hump day is dedicated to you. You are the most wonderful lady and you bring a smile to my face every day. I will miss your laughter, your encouragement, your stories, your passion, your energy, your colorfulness (in both personality and clothing co-ordination) and seeing your gorgeous little face across the office every single day. However I know that this is not the end of our friendship and even though we won’t be working together anymore, please know that you hold a very special place in my heart and I am sure we will continue being friends until we are both old and grey. And who knows, maybe we will end up living together on that house boat in Amsterdam one day ;)

When the sun comes out I love wearing bright colours and my coral maxi skirts is one of my favourite items in my closet for a casual look on a summery (London) day. Makeup wise I kept it simple and light with just some sparkle on the eyes and clear glossy lips.

Sometimes simple is best; just fresh and light – do you agree?
Sometimes you just can’t beat a simple healthy dinner of grilled salmon and veggies! Salmon is my definitely one of my favourite super foods! Not only does it have fantastic health benefits (high in omega-3 fatty acids) but it is also a super easy dish on nights were I’m very tired and very hungry. Recently I have been loving putting a moroccan spice rub on my salmon before grilling it for a delicious twist and flavour explosion! This is such a quick and easy dinner, it only takes about 10min to make and tastes terrific so let’s talk through my moroccan spiced salmon recipe shall we?
Moroccan Spiced Salmon Recipe
(with butternut squash & sweet potato mash)
Ingredients to serve 4:
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon rock (or sea) salt
4 salmon fillets, skin on
Butternut squash & sweet potato cubes
Bunch of fresh asparagus
First let’s make up this incredible spice rub. In a small bowl, combine paprika, ginger, cinnamon, cumin and sea salt. The great thing about putting a dry rub on salmon is that it keeps the inside moist and tender while you grill or bake it.
You can also make this rub in a larger portion and store it in an airtight container. This way you can use it in a flash any time you want, plus you can use it on chicken and steaks too!
Once your spice mixture is ready, place the side of salmon on a cutting board, skin side down. Pat the fish dry with a paper towel and rub the mixture evenly on the tops of the salmon fillets gently pressing mixture into the flesh to make it stick.
Heat a grill pan on medium-high heat and lightly coat with a little olive oil or other fat of choice (you won’t need much because salmon is already a oily fish). I personally love my Fry Light Extra Virgin Olive Oil cooking spray. It makes healthy grilling easy-peasy!
When the oil is hot, add the salmon, spice-side down on the skillet and sear for 2 minutes. In the meantime I have also trimmed my asparagus spears so I pop them on at the time so they will be ready at the same time as my salmon fillets.
While the fish is grilling away I create my side of butternut squash & sweet potato mash. You can just cut up fresh butternut squash and sweet potatoes but my local supermarket has an easy cheat option by selling it all cubed up and ready to go in a packet. Winner!
All I do is rinse them down with some water, place the cubes in a microwave safe bowl, cover with glad-wrap and microwave for about 3 minutes (depending on the quantity). You want them steaming hot all the way through making them soft so it’s easy to mash them up with salt, pepper and I like adding a splash of milk and a dash of cinnamon to this mash mixture! This is one of my favourite side dishes; super easy & oh so healthy!
After your salmon has been grillin’ away for 2-3 minutes, turn it and cook skin side down for an additional 3-4 minutes. Be careful not to overcook it, I think salmon is most delicious when it starts to flake with a fork, but is still slightly rare in the centre.
Then serve the salmon immediately alongside your sides of choice, which in this case for me was butternut squash & sweet potato mash and tasty grilled asparagus… AND ENJOY!
This is a fail-proof quick healthy dinner for me and the spice mix just compliments the salmon so perfectly. I based the ingredients for this recipe on 4 servings but normally I just make this dinner for me, myself and I so just divide the spice mix by four to create a smaller rub for a single serving.
