YAY for it being Wednesday; my week is flying by and I actually can’t believe it is March already on Friday. However, unfortunately, the weather here in London has gotten quite cold again recently. Urghhh, I am really craving some sunshine and bright skies at the moment – I think I need to plan a sunny break for the Easter Holidays to get some much needed Vitamin D into my system – do you have any suggestions?
Also I am excited to try a Barrecore exercise class tonight as part of my Sweaty Betty Fit Crowd experience. Have you tried this before? I will let you know how I get on! I hope you all have a Happy Hump Day :)
On Sunday the 85th Academy Awards took place in LA. I always love seeing what the stars wear at the most hyped up awards show of the season but I have to say that in general I was a little bit underwhelmed by the red carpet looks this year. However here a quick outline of my best dressed at the Oscars 2013.
My favourite would have to be Jessica Chastain in Armani Privé. She looks so elegant and like a bono-fida movie-star! The gold gown fits her beautifully and suits her porcelain complexion. The red lips and her incredible curls finishes off the look perfectly!
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior! She won the Oscar that night for best actress and I loved the film Silver Linings Playbook so I felt her win was well deserved. Her dress is a total knockout and she kept the rest of the styling and accessories simple to let this dramatic gown to all the talking. I also loved the sparkly necklace bit attached to the dress at the back. As beautiful as the dress was; it did cause her to tumble on the stairs when going up to accept her award but I love Jennifer; she just laughed it off! She seems a great down-to-earth girl, and her post winning interview cracked me up (see video here).
Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta. Normally I am not that keen on too much ruffles and frill but I loved this silver grey dress. It was gorgeous from the back with the long sweep and I bet it made her feel like a princess :)
Naomi Watts sparkled in a one-shouldered Armani Prive gown! She was incredible in ‘The Impossible’ so her nomination was very well deserved. I like the dark beaded sequins and the different and modern feel of this dress. Hair and makeup was kept simple which I think was appropriate with this kind of ‘look at me’ dress.
Other notable mentions are for Charlize Theron in Dior Couture (even with her short shaved hairstyle I think she is still one of the most beautiful woman in Hollywood), Kerry Washington in Miu Miu and Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab.

A few weeks back I got approached by Sweaty Betty, a leading women’s fashion and lifestyle brand, with the question ‘did I want to be part of the Sweaty Betty The Fit Crowd‘? Now as you can imagine that’s not something I had to think that long and hard about – I mean who doesn’t want to be able to say; I belong to ‘The Fit Crowd’ haha! I was already a fan of Sweaty Betty’s workout gear so joining them on a journey of fun, fitness and fashion sounded perfect to me!
A few days after accepting a big box arrived from Sweaty Betty and I did a little woohoo in the office when I found my official welcome to The Fit Crowd invite inside! It also contained their latest Spring/Summer 2013 Look Book. I love so many of the outfits….
Sweaty Betty’s purpose is “to inspire woman to find empowerment through fitness” and they believe that healthy & fit = happiness and I am in total agreement with that! Next week I will be off to my first Sweaty Betty – The Fit Crowd event to meet the other health and fitness loving selected ladies and I will get to pick some clothes from the new collection and we’ll have some fitness fun together – I cant wait!
A couple of months ago, I was invited to attend the top-secret launch party of Jimmy Choo’s new fragrance “FLASH” right at the top of one of the coolest buildings (the Gherkin) in town. However, at the time we were all sworn to secrecy to reveal anything about the name, bottle or the campaign until it had launched officially. In January the Jummy Choo FLASH perfume hit the stores which means I can now finally reveal everything about it. The launch party was quite the flashy affair, with the fragrance being unveiled amid hundreds of flashes reflecting the bottle’s inspiration – a paparazzo’s flashbulb!
FLASH, is the second fragrance by Jimmy Choo and Creative Directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway told us at the launch party all about the distinct vision they had for this perfume “FLASH is about the cool rush of excitement and the sense of power a woman feels when dressed in a pair of sexy shoes. Its character which is both heady and effervescent, captures this perfectly.”
The campaign for the fragrance, shot by photographer Steven Meisel featuring model Natasha Poly captures this vision to reflect the mood of luxury and glamour, while revealing a hidden sense of fun and the forbidden.
The fragrance itself, designed by perfumer Christine Nigel, is a gorgeous white floral scent featuring top notes of pink pepper and strawberry that give it a more modern and exotic twist.

I have been wearing this fragrance a lot in the last few months and have to say I really like it. It’s soft enough for day-time but also fun and sexy for a night out on the town! Apparently he designed the fragrance with the Jimmy Choo woman in mind who is self-confident, urban, sexy, rebellious and sophisticated.
Moi? With a spritz of this stuff…for sure ;)
