Shimmering Bronze & when in Spain…

Part of the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soleil Collection for Summer 2011 was the limited edition Pure Nail Lacquer in Shimmering Bronze!  So while on the beach in Spain, I thought this would be the perfect time to try out this gorgeous bronze colour on my nails: Check it out!
I have never worn a shade like this before and I admit that it took me a little while to get used to, but it’s definitely grown on me. As much as it is marketed to be a summer polish, I also think this shade would be lovely to wear in Autumn or Winter! Above is after applying two coats. The polish has quite a thick consistency but is easy to apply and nice and shimmery/glittery without being too over the top! If you like this nail polish, you better be quick because it’s limited edition! It’s on sale now at House of Frasers and going nationwide from 2nd May (£14) What do you think of Shimmery Bronze – would you rock something like this to the beach?

Also some photo’s from my Easter Holiday in Puerto Banus, Spain:

When in Spain…
♥ Read magazines and sunbathe by the pool
♥ Stuff yourself every morning at the amazing buffet breakfast…
♥ Check out the local shops
♥ Stroll along the Marina boulevard regularly, dreaming you owned one of those amazing boats!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter break and got a visit from the Easter Bunny?! xoxo

Viva La Juicy on the Go!

Since Juicy girls are always on the move, they should always have their Juicy Couture wherever they go.” That’s why Juicy Couture created two adorable little Eau de Parfum travellers, complete with the juiciest strawberry or yummiest cupcake charms…so now your Juicy Couture spritz, is always at your fingertips!
They created them for their famous fragrances ‘The Juicy Couture’ and ‘Viva La Juicy’
I was so very lucky to be sent one of these gorgeous little travellers to take with me on holiday this Easter:

Viva La Juicy is a sweet and fruity fragrance. The top notes are of wild berries and juicy mandarin. These are the scents that will initially reach your nose and it is fruity but not too strong. The middle notes are of jasmine, gardenia and honeysuckle, all sweet scents but nice and mellow. The base notes include amber, vanilla, carmel, sandalwood and praline. These rich tones give balance to the sweetness, making it a full and complex fragrance. It has a light scent and is not at all overpowering. You won’t want to stop smelling it. The scent is long lasting, and it will bring joy to your mind and body. If you are young at heart and love life, you will love Viva La Juicy!

I have loved wearing this frangrance and the handy little traveller size is perfect to take on holidays or pop in your purse for a night out on the town! Viva La Juicy is a really nice glamorous and fabulous smell, love it :)

Juicy EDP, 30ml Travellers priced at £39.50 / €51.00

Available UK wide from 12th April 2011 in Selfridges, Harrods, Debenhams , Harvey Nichols, The Perfume Shop, The Fragrance Shop, selected House of Fraser and John Lewis stores, Brown Thomas and Arnotts in Ireland.

Happy Hump Day

Amen! I’m going to try to live by this motto from now on ;)
Wishing you all a fabulous happy hump day!

Some recent retail therapy…

Being the little shopping addict that I am check out some great little purchases I picked up recently:
Stone/Beige coloured wedge heels from New Look – £22.99
I had been looking for some natural coloured wedges for a while and think these will look great with jeans or a simple dress. Plus major bonus points because they are comfy!
Everyone raves about Primark and yes as much as Primark is such good value and you can find some great items there, the Oxford Street shop truly terrifies me. I can never be bothered trying things on or actually standing in the queue for an hour to pay for things I want. It’s always SO messy and SO busy plus my heart rate increases and I get stressed out the minute I walk in haha! However, a few weeks ago I risked my life and had a wee shopping spree at Primark. These are some of the items I picked up:
Black & Gold Waist Belt – £5
Set of gold rings – £1.50
Genuine Leather Bejewelled Sandals £12

Have you had some great retail therapy recently? Tell me about your new purchases :) xoxo

Fake Tanning with He-Shi

With all this increasing sunny weather, which means showing off more skin I am ALL about looking tanned! I’m definitely a big fake tanning fanatic and I normally use St Tropez Tanning Mousse, Garnier Ambre Solaire spray or Garnier Summer Body daily moisturiser. Recently I got offered to try a brand I hadn’t heard of before which promised ‘no streaks, no patches and no chemical smells’. This all sounded fab so I said, where do I sign up? ;) Introducing the He-Shi Tanning Range:

What they say:
He-Shi is a leading professional tanning brand of Irish origin. Their comprehensive range of easy-to-use face and body products is designed to give a natural and hassle-free tan for both men and women. He-Shi gives sun-kissed colour on contact with the skin so you can see where you go and there is no risk of unsightly streaking or tell-tale white patches.

How to use:
Ready to Bare in just 3 simple steps which prepare the skin and achieve the perfect and most natural tan, He-Shi is designed for both summer and winter use, for an all year round natural tan.

What do I think?
Firstly I have to say, I love the exfoliator! I have tried different exfoliators over the years and I never really like the effect or feeling they give my skin so tend not to use them that often. However, the He-Shi exfoliator is lovely, its smells deliciously of strawberries and isn’t too harsh on my skin. It truly leaves my body feeling refreshed, smooth, cleansed and moisturised.

The dark tanning mousse is quick drying and easy to apply. It has a tinted formula (like St Tropez) which prevents streaks and patchiness, because you can see exactly what areas you may have missed to get an overall natural looking tan. I’m also a big fan of the He-Shi tanning mitt. I normally use my St Tropez mitt but bonus points to the He-Shi mitt because it has a fab lotion proof barrier which ensures your hands remain stain free! Brilliant stuff!

Smell wise, the He-Shi Dark Foaming mousse is pretty good. Initially when you apply it you don’t get any of the usual fake tan smells but I did find that after say an hour you can smell it, but only lightly!

When I woke up the next morning I was impressed with my smooth deep dark tan. It’s probably a little bit dark for me at the moment but it would be perfect for summer time. You can see what the tan looked like on me here, here and here. A few of you actually commented on my tan and summer ‘glow’ in the pics! Another thing: the tan was really long lasting, it lasted almost a whole week, which is especially amazing considering the fact that I was useless at moisturising regularly. The tan never started flaking, it just slowly faded which is so nice because I hate the flaky effect that some fake tans get after a few days!

So overall I think this is a great tanning range and am keen to try their express liquid tan or gradual tanning moisturiser!

I also got their Fusion Multi Bronzing Powder plus a handy sized kabuki bronzing brush. I have been using this light bronzer all over the face and chest quite a lot and love the sheer natural bronzed glow it gives me!

The full He-Shi range of products is available at House of Frasers, Harvey Nichols, selected salons and spa’s across Ireland and the UK plus online at Happy fake tanning!

The Beauty Department with LC!

A bit of fun news came across my desk the other day that I thought I’d share with you all. Well it turns out that Lauren Conrad  has decided to take her beauty knowledge online! Lauren was by far my favourite on the MTV show ‘The Hills’ and the girl was smart enough to get off that show before it became a bit loony! Anyhow, ever since she left the show LC has been really busy focusing on her career designing clothes, writing books and sharing her love or fashion and style with us! I personally love Lauren’s sense of style and beauty, she’s one of my fashion and beauty icons! ♥

So now LC has decided to launch her own beauty website, called ‘The Beauty Department’.

With the help of her makeup artist, Amy Nadine, and her talented hair stylist, Kristin Ess, she will be sharing all her knowledge, looks and inspiration with us regularly. How exciting right!

What they say “This is a site for anyone who’s ever had a beauty question or gotten into a fight with a hair brush and lost. We’ll be covering all kinds of hair+makeup how-to’s, nail trends, skin issues, tools, current obsessions & inspirations, as well as countless quick tips.”

One of the first hair tutorials posted on the website shows you how to create gorgeous vintage curls!

Click here to see step-by-step instructions on how to create this look! Love it :)

I’ve got to say I am very impressed with, so LC definitely has my vote & support! Hopefully she’ll feature a tutorial soon on how to create those famous soft curls and perfectly winged eyeliner, I can’t wait! :) What do you think, will you be checking out and following LC’s new site? xoxo

Happy Hump Day

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

“There are two kinds of secrets. The ones we keep from others and the ones we keep from ourselves.” Frank Warren

Also I can’t believe it’s almost Easter already, time is just flying by this year! We’ve been so lucky with amazing hot sunny weather in London recently. However for the Easter holidays, four day long weekend, I am off to South of Spain with a girlfriend. Fingers crossed we get sunshine and warm weather there too!

So I want to take this time to wish you all a wonderful Easter! And enjoy the Chocolates – which is obviously the BEST part about Easter right?!
